Bio:
Klas-Göran "Klase J:r" Klaesson (born 1945) is a Swedish ceramic artist and sculptor from Höganäs. He began working in ceramics in the early 1960s in his father Otto Klaesson's workshop, Klase Keramik, initially producing functional pottery before focusing on sculptural work. Klaesson is best known for his expressive animal sculptures, mythological figures and humorous subjects, created in heavily textured stoneware with rich, earthy glazes. His works have been exhibited extensively and are represented in numerous public commissions and private collections throughout Sweden.
