Organically and freely shaped stoneware bowl with a pronounced asymmetrical, biomorphic form, characteristic of Axel Salto’s experimental and sculptural approach. The powerful plastic form is combined with a deep, vibrant glaze in brown and violet tones with subtle colour variations, enhancing the artistic presence of the piece.

Axel Salto was one of the most innovative Danish ceramic artists of the 20th century and a key figure at Royal Copenhagen. His works often occupy the boundary between functional ceramics and sculpture, characterised by organic forms, strong plasticity and experimental glazes. These freely modelled pieces are considered among Salto’s most artistically significant works.
